Whole Body Cryotherapy was developed in Japan in 1980. With physical short-term treatment, the patient is exposed to extreme cold of -120 °C up to three times a day for a few minutes.
The innovative "cryogenic" technology by cooling units, has been perfected by us over the last 20 years and is constantly evolving. In the high-tech products cryoair of MECOTEC, it comes to perfection.
Whole Body Cryotherapy is considered one of the most effective physical therapies for rheumatic diseases. The positive effects in relation to the inflammatory process, the sensation of pain and mobility of the patient have been demonstrated in many studies.
In sports and professional sports, the positive properties of the body cooling can be used to increase performance and faster recovery. Athletes report of a real kick with adrenaline and endorphin boost on the visit in the cold chamber.
The cold therapy is recommended after an intense workout to avoid muscle pain. The local reduction in blood flow and metabolism reduces inflammatory reactions and the distribution of pain-producing mediator substances.
Also prior to greater loads, the athletes use the cold - it is a great opportunity for short-term athletic performance.
The short-term cooling down to -110 °C favours a large number of positive reactions in the body. The pain patient benefits primarily from the anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, the cold interrupts the pain receptors, so that even after the first application an improved mobility occurs.
The body mobilises defences, the release of endorphins to promote healing, well-being and quality of life. In some cases, the medication can be reduced.
The cryoair cold chambers of MECOTEC are equipped with a highly efficient electric refrigeration unit that produces cold of -120 °C.
Worldwide, there are already more than 400 cold chambers of MECOTEC in use. The development and production of refrigeration chambers are completely in our hands. Therefore, a cold chamber of MECOTEC offers many advantages:
The cold therapy chambers are manufactured in different versions. They range from a single-chamber to the three-chamber system with temperature ranges of down to -120 °C. The chambers are in terms of size, shape and features each adapted to the needs and given locations of the specific projects.
The cryoair cold chambers are comfortable to use, can be almost fully automated and equipped with a remote control function to reduce service costs.
